Program Eligibility and Applications
To be admitted into the Upward Bound Program, students must meet the following criteria:
- The student must be a freshman, sophomore or junior at one of the following high schools:
- Terlingua
- Marfa
- Van Horn
- Sierra Blanca
- The student must come from a family whose income meets federal income requirements and/or from a family in which neither parent has completed a four-year degree (first-generation college students).
Selection is also based on recommendation from teachers and counselors, grades, test scores and a personal interview.
Applying for Upward Bound
Prospects should complete the Upward Bound Application for Admission (PDF) and turn in all supporting documentation to establish eligibility for the Upward Bound Program.
