Application and Admissions Requirements

Effective immediately, Sul Ross State University is pleased to announce all applications for freshman admission will be considered under a test-optional format for students applying for Summer 2020 and Fall 2020.

Students will not be required to submit an SAT/ACT score to receive an admissions decision.

We are very excited that you are interested in joining the Sul Ross community. Please take a few minutes to review the following descriptions before clicking on the appropriate link. Once you’ve submitted your application and supporting documents (ie transcripts, test scores), we will review your credentials and make a decision. All admissions decisions are sent through postal mail.

  • If you’re still in high school or if you’ve graduated, but have not enrolled in another two or four year college, you will apply as a freshmen.
  • If you’ve graduated from high school and have enrolled at another two- or four-year college, you will apply as a transfer.
  • If you previously attended at Sul Ross and stopped taking classes for one or more semesters, you will apply as a Readmit.
  • Interested in taking one or two classes at Sul Ross to transfer to your permanent college? Apply as a Visitor.
  • If you are currently a resident of a country that is not the United States, you will apply as an International student.
  • If you’ve earned or will earn a four-year degree and are interested in pursuing a Masters from Sul Ross, you will apply as a graduate student.
