The Biology, Geology, & Physical Sciences Department and the Agricultural & Natural Resource Sciences Department each house Geographic Information Systems (GIS) laboratories; one in the Warnock Science Building and one at the Turner Range Animal Science Center.  The primary purpose of the WSB GIS lab is to teach introductory and advanced GIS techniques at the sophomore, junior, and senior levels.  Students in the BGPS Department are also welcome to use the lab during normal campus hours for other classwork. The RAS GIS lab is used for upper level GIS, statistics, and soils courses.  It is also used for undergraduate and graduate research analysis and writing. The RAS GIS lab is open to students during normal campus hours for other classwork, as well.  Both labs have a schedule of classes posted on the door each semester for times the lab is in use.

The above activities 100% funded through Department of Education Award #P031C110039 Adelante Tejas (“Forward Texas”): A Partnership to Improve Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education project. Project Directors Leslie Hopper  and Barbara Knotts
