Admission Steps

  • Submit a Graduate Application through
  • Submit transcripts from all colleges and universities attended to admissions office for Rio Grande College.
  • Application is then sent to Department of Education for evaluation.
  • Additional Certification Program Requirements

  • Certification programs require a screening process where applicants will demonstrate experience, knowledge, and skills for a respective field. Education Department staff will contact the applicant with the schedule for formal admission screening.
  • Applicant must submit the following documents prior to the screening:
    • Educator Service Record with evidence of teaching experience
    • A Letter of Reference
    • Application for a Degree Plan
  • Formal Admission
    • Screening process completed
    • Formal Admission Letter and Code of Ethics Affirmation Statement sent to applicant to be signed and returned within seven days per Texas Education Agency TAC 227.17 (e)
    • Degree plan prepared and sent to applicant
