The Geographical Information System laboratory is housed on the third floor of the Barton Warnock Science building. The primary purpose of the laboratory is to teach introductory GIS techniques at the sophomore level and to allow these students use of the laboratory in other upper division classes. The emphasis of the introductory class is to present an interdisciplinary approach, where students with a variety of backgrounds will work on projects with diverse data types. A secondary purpose of the lab is for upper division and graduate GIS classes and for faculty research. The lab consists of 10 networked PC computers running ESRI's ArcView GIS package as well as graphics applications. For details, contact Kevin Urbanczyk at email@example.com.
