The Sul Ross State University Lobos dropped an 8-0 ASC decision to visiting Belhaven on a chilly Saturday night at Jackson Field to wrap up the 2018 season.
The Lobos finish at 1-9 overall and 1-8 in ASC competition while the Blazers wrap up the campaign at 2-8 and 2-7.
Belhaven’s Gabriel Wilson scampered one yard into the Lobo endzone capping an 11-play, 54-yard scoring drive. Jemoine Green’s two-point conversion rush put the visitors on top 8-0 with 36 seconds left in the first quarter.
Sul Ross would have several chances to capitalize but managed just two of 14 third down conversions and went 0-1 for in the red zone.
The Blazers finished with 213 yards of total offense while holding Sul Ross to 96. Belhaven converted two of three fourth downs while the Lobos converted one of three.

The Sul Ross offense suffered three sacks for a loss of 24 yards. Both teams were penalized for a combined total of 104 yards. Both teams also suffered an interception.
Individually, Williton Grear led the ground attack netting 73 yards off of 14 carries. Fabian Baeza completed nine of 23 passes with an interception and was sacked three times.
Defensively, Fentrese Milligan and Levah Tarry posted 12 and 10 tackles respectively. Cory McMahan recorded an interception while Kristian Gaona, James Parker and Jaylen Bussey posted a breakup each in the effort.
