The Alpine Campus
The main Sul Ross State University is nestled in the Davis Mountains, overlooking the small city of Alpine.

The Del Rio Campus
Del Rio, sister city of Ciudad Acuña, Mexico, combines the ambiance of Mexico with American culture to form a diversified city. The Sul Ross State University Del Rio campus offers opportunities for laboratory science courses and houses the offices of the Dean of Academic Affairs, Chair of Natural and Behavioral Sciences, Chair of Business Administration, Chair of Humanities, and the main office of Business Services.

The Eagle Pass Campus
Eagle Pass, located on the border across from Piedras Negras, Mexico, is the center of a thriving international trade community. The Eagle Pass campus on the eastern edge of the city houses the central offices of the Admissions and Records Department. The regional Small Business Development Center has its main office on the Eagle Pass campus as well.

Uvalde Campus
A relatively old township in southwest Texas, Uvalde was settled in 1853. The Sul Ross State University Uvalde campus houses the office of the Vice President of Rio Grande College, academic support services, and student services. Uvalde is also the headquarters of Southwest Texas Junior College, RGC’s partner institution.

Sul Ross @ Midland College
Sul Ross State University and Midland College have created a unique way for students to earn a bachelor’s degree. The Sul Ross @ MC Program offers students the opportunity to earn a bachelor’s degree with majors in Biology, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Education, English, Geology, History, Homeland Security, Mathematics, Nursing (RN to BSN), and Spanish. In addition, some master’s programs have been added.

Sul Ross State University is involved in a number of grant programs, partnerships and other ventures to promote academic enhancement, student opportunities, economic development, academic research and culture in West Texas.

Rio Grande Research Center
The mission of the Rio Grande Research Center is to create a structured, science-based, basin-wide perspective for the sustainable use of water resources within the bi-national Rio Grande watershed.

Center for Big Bend Studies
The Center for Big Bend Studies is committed to the recovery, protection, and sharing of this region’s rich cultural legacy through dynamic programs of research, education, public outreach, and publication.

Borderlands Research Institute
The mission of the Borderlands Research Institute for Natural Resource Management is to help conserve the natural resources of the Chihuahuan Desert Borderlands through research, education, and outreach.
Pride & Tradition of SRSU
Authorized by the Texas Legislature in 1917
Authorized by the Texas Legislature in 1917, Sul Ross Normal College opened its doors in 1920. Over the years, the Legislature broadened the institution’s scope and changed its name, in succession, to Teachers College, College, and in 1969 to Sul Ross State University.
