The Museum of the Big Bend at Sul Ross State University invites photography enthusiasts, artists, students and the community to celebrate Alpine Photo Weekend on Friday, June 12, and Saturday, June 13, in Alpine.
The weekend begins Friday evening with the opening reception for “Quaerite et Invenietis,” a photography exhibition by acclaimed photographer Bobby Greeson. The reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. and offers guests an opportunity to experience Greeson’s striking images of Bristlecone Pines in the White Mountains, California, and Antelope Canyon in Arizona.
Greeson is a multi-disciplinary artist equally comfortable with photography, filmmaking or design. Driven by a passion for new experiences, he is a lifelong traveler, having visited around 60 countries and all seven continents.
On Saturday, June 13, the museum will host a full day of free presentations, workshops and photography-focused activities from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Designed for photographers of all skill levels, Alpine Photo Weekend celebrates the art of visual storytelling while showcasing the unique landscapes, culture and creative spirit of Far West Texas.
