Sul Ross State University’s 2022 Homecoming festivities kick off Saturday, Oct. 22, with live music and Halloween-related activities throughout next week.
Braxton Keith will jumpstart the annual celebration with music and dancing at the Ole Crystal Bar Saturday night from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Several food trucks will also park at the bar.
Hypnotist Brian Imbus will entertain the audience from 8 to 9:15 p.m. at the Espino Conference Center in the Morgan University Center on Sunday, Oct. 23. The Homecoming Court will also be introduced that evening.
The first pep rally of the week, led by the SRSU cheer team, will be Monday, Oct. 24, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on the mall. An inflatable obstacle course at the Gallego Center from 6 to 8 p.m. is for SRSU students only.
On Tuesday, Oct. 25, drive your car to the lower Gallego Center parking lot using Entrance 1 to get “branded” with window paint, and bring your children to trunk or treat, all from 6 to 8 p.m.
Meet the men’s and women’s basketball teams during Lobo Madness at the Gallego Center on Wednesday, Oct. 26, from 8 to 9:30 p.m.
Several events are scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 27. For students only, two kickball games will start at 6:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. at the SRSU Intramural Field. Pizza will be served. At dark, look to the east for the lighting of the Bar-SR-Bar on Hancock Hill. A Halloween Extravaganza with a haunted house, facing painting, games and food will be held at the Graves Pierce Complex from 10 p.m. to midnight.
Line up for the Friday, Oct. 28, parade starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Alpine Post Office. The parade starts at 7:30 p.m. and will travel down Holland Avenue, ending at Jackson Field. The bonfire will then be held at the track next to the football field. The pep rally will be on the intramural field.
The Lobo volleyball team takes on UT Dallas at 6 p.m. at the Gallego Center.
Game day on Saturday, Oct. 29, starts with tailgating on Lobo Lane north of Jackson Field from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The dedication of the Randy Jackson Lobo Field House will be held at the 50-yard line beginning at 12:30 p.m.
Kick-off is at 1 p.m. and the Homecoming Coronation is at halftime.
Lobo volleyball starts at 2 p.m. when they’ll take on LeTourneau University, also at the Gallego Center.
Finally, meet back at the Ole Crystal Bar at 10 p.m. for DJ Tequila Sound Machine, opening for Jacob Stelly. Halloween costumes are encouraged.
A shuttle is available for SRSU students with valid identification for both Saturday night events on the hour from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. The shuttle will travel back and forth between the circle near the Zuzu Verk Amphitheatre and the Ole Crystal Bar.
