A night of cold shooting hampered the Lady Lobo effort as Sul Ross dropped a 62-37 ASC decision to No. 17 U.T. Dallas in the home opener Thursday.

The Comets outscored Sully by a 20-9 margin in the first quarter and held the home team to just five points in the second quarter for a 33-14 lead at intermission.

Thursday’s loss drops Sul Ross to 2-3 on the season and 0-1 in conference play while U.T. Dallas improves to 4-1 and 1-0.

The Lady Lobos will take on visiting University of the Southwest at 3:00 p.m. in a non-conference rematch Saturday.
