The Sul Ross Lobo football team fell to visiting Louisiana College in a 49-16 ASC game Saturday, Sept. 29.
Sully posted the first score of the evening on an 11-yard touchdown pass from Fabian Baeza to Marcus Montez. Julio Azua’s extra point kick put the Lobos on top 7-0 with 11:20 left in the first quarter.
The Wildcats then registered 24 unanswered points to take a 24-7 lead to the half.
The visitors went on to lead 30-7 by the end of the third quarter.
With 11:15 left in the game, Sully’s James Parker returned a fumbled PAT kick for a 2-point score and Sul Ross trailing 46-9.
Clayton Maxwell then connected with Byron Jones on a 32-yard scoring pass before Azua’s kick narrowed the Lobo deficit 46-16 with 8:45 left in the game.
The Wildcats finished off the Lobos with a 26-yard field goal by Chris Sebronat at the 2:24 mark.
The Lobos drop to 0-4 on the season and 0-3 in ASC play. Louisiana College improves to 2-2 and 2-1.
