Alpine, TX – Playwright Philip Dawkins visits the Sul Ross campus July 9 and 10. Dawkins’ will attend the Saturday, July 10 performance of his play Failure: A Love Story at the Kokernot Outdoor Theatre and offer a post-show Q&A with the audience.
Dawkins will conduct a playwriting workshop on July 9 with Sul Ross theatre students. “We’re excited to host Philip on our campus and work with him again,” says Fine Arts and Communication Chair, Marjie Scott. “He collaborated with us on our fall 2020 original web series “Teniamos Todo (we had everything). He wrote two smart and wickedly funny scripts for that production. Failure: A Love Story is a funny, tragic, poetic, and sweet play. It’s not often that audiences get to talk with the playwright right after seeing a show. This is something special.”
Failure: A Love Story closes this weekend. Performances July 9, 10, 11 at 8pm at the Kokernot Outdoor Theatre. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 seniors/children (12 and under), and free to SRSU Campus Community (with ID) and United States veterans.
