Two Sul Ross State University students are the recipients of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International scholarships.
Natalie Polacios, Midland, and Isaac Tovar, El Paso, were named this year’s scholarship recipients.
The scholarship will be used to assist with student teaching expenses.
Polacios, who comes from a family of teachers, will be teaching Early Childhood-Grade 6th Core Subjects.
Tovar, who has served as a volunteer coach at Alpine Middle School, will be teaching All-Level PE.
“The purpose of this scholarship is to help Sul Ross student teachers with expenses either travelling to and from their assigned school, or for items they want to purchase for their classrooms,” said Sara Herman, President of the Iowa Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Beta.
“We are delighted to help both Natalie and Isaac achieve their goals of becoming educators,” she said.
Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is an organization of women educators around the world.
The organization was established in 1929 at the Faculty Women’s Club of the University of Texas at Austin.
