The Sul Ross State University Music Department and Big Bend Children’s Chorus will host a choir camp for kids in grades 2-8 beginning Friday, July 1.
The cost to attend is $25. Students will practice daily from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Francois Fine Arts Building on the Alpine campus. They will perform with the Alpine Community Band at 7:30 p.m. at Kokernot Park on July 4 during the Independence Day celebration.
Songs include “America the Beautiful,” “America (My Country, ‘tis of Thee),” “America, America” and “Shenandoah.”
Snacks and games will be provided during rehearsals. Additional age groups will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
The Fine Arts Building can be accessed by parking at the Morgan University Center on Avenue B and using the outside stairs on the east side of the building. Proceed south past the Museum of the Big Bend, and stop at the FAB, which is the next building on the left.
