The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will hold four Big Bend area meetings Nov. 7-15 to gather input from the public regarding the US 67 Corridor Master Plan Study.
The meetings will start at 5 p.m. and take place at the Marfa Visitor Center on Nov. 7, the Presidio Activity Center on Nov. 8, the Fort Davis elementary school gym on Nov. 14, and the Alpine Civic Center on Nov. 15. TxDOT will present the same information at each meeting.
Following the Big Bend area dates, a virtual public meeting will be published online along with Study information at https://www.txdot.gov/inside-txdot/projects/studies/el-paso/us67-i10-presidio.html.
The US 67 Corridor Master Plan Study focuses on the portion of US 67 between Fort Stockton and Presidio and was created to identify a community vision for the route as well as the projects required to implement that vision. TxDOT has not yet identified route expansion or alternatives and their goal is to improve the safety of motorists, bicyclists, pedestrians, freight transporters, transit services, law enforcement, and first responders.
Created in response to increasing traffic due to population growth, tourism and special events, international commerce, and Permian Basin oil field development, the US 67 Corridor Master Plan Study is not related to the “La Entrada al Pacífico” feasibility study begun in 2007.
