Sul Ross State University’s chapter of Kappa Delta Pi has been nationally recognized with two honors, including the 2025 Celebration of Teaching Award and the Program Award for Community Service.
The Celebration of Teaching Award honors the chapter’s signature initiative, a video entitled “The Future,” which shines a spotlight on the power of education. It can be found online at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CoxJo9M52IA.
In addition, the Program Award for Community Service recognizes the chapter’s dedication to uplifting schools and communities through the annual Read Aloud event, which brings SRSU faculty, staff and students together to read to area youth.
The Sul Ross chapter, known as Zeta Delta, is one of just 12 to receive the Celebration of Teaching award and only seven to receive the Community Service award.
As part of the recognition, Zeta Delta will receive a $100 award and commemorative plaque for each honor.
Founded in 1911, Kappa Delta Pi (KDP) is an international honor society in education dedicated to fostering excellence in education and promoting fellowship among those dedicated to teaching.
