The Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) at Sul Ross State University advances student success by strengthening foundational skills and supporting students’ transition into rigorous university-level learning. ACE is home to developmental education in ELAR (English Language Arts & Reading) and mathematics, where committed faculty cultivate structured, student-centered learning environments that emphasize growth, accountability, and academic excellence.

Organizationally, ACE is housed within the Jimmy D. Case College of Literature, Arts, and Social Sciences (LASS).
