What are Student Organizations?
Student organizations are clubs or groups that bring together individuals with shared interests. They complement classroom learning by giving students opportunities to collaborate, build community, and develop valuable skills such as leadership, communication, organization, and time management.
Wanting to create a new Student Organization?
Current Sul Ross State University Students that are interested in starting a new student organization or club should meet with the Campus Activities Coordinator to discuss the process before
submitting forms. Please e-mail the Campus Activities Coordinator at abbey.chittum@sulross.edu to make an appointment.
If you want to create a student organization that is already established, you will be pointed in the correct direction
Existing Student Organization's Annual Registration
Student Organizations are required to register every school year to be an official Sul Ross State University organization and remain eligible for benefits outlined in the Student Organization Handbook.
For a student organization to be considered registered, they must submit registration forms by September 15th of each year.
Completed forms with all necessary signatures should be returned to the Campus Activities office UC room 108, or emailed to campusactivities@sulross.edu.
Note: Handwritten and/or incomplete forms will not be accepted!
Events
Each year, there are numerous opportunities for student clubs and organizations to get involved and make an impact on campus life. From campus-wide events to seasonal activities, participating in these events is a great way to promote your organization, connect with fellow students, and enhance the overall student experience.
