The Department of Kinesiology & Human Performance at Sul Ross State University offers one of the most distinctive Texas kinesiology programs, preparing students across Texas for careers in health, fitness, education, coaching, and human performance. Through hands-on learning, small class sizes, and close faculty mentorship, students gain the knowledge and experience needed to succeed in a wide range of professional and academic pathways. With a strong emphasis on quality teaching, hands-on learning, and service, the program prepares a diverse student population for a wide range of professional opportunities.

Minor in Kinesiology and Human Performance
This 18-credit minor provides students with foundational knowledge in kinesiology and physical education. It includes at least 6 upper-division (3000–4000 level) credit hours, making it a valuable addition for students interested in health, wellness, or sports-related careers.
Minor in Recreation Administration
The Recreation Administration minor offers students an 18-credit foundation in recreation and leisure services, leadership, and outdoor skills. Coursework prepares students to promote active, healthy lifestyles across all age groups and to work effectively in community-based recreational settings.
