Degree Options
Master of Science in Range and Wildlife Management (Thesis & Non-Thesis)
- Thesis Option
This 30-credit hour program includes graduate-level coursework and a faculty-supervised thesis research project. Students collaborate with an advisor to design and conduct original research. When available, research funding and graduate assistantships are offered. These competitive positions are often posted online, but prospective students are encouraged to contact faculty directly to explore opportunities prior to applying. - Non-Thesis Option
Also requiring 30 credit hours, this option includes coursework and a Record of Study, which involves a smaller research project and comprehensive report. Students work with a faculty mentor to shape their study. Since this pathway generally does not require external research funding, it offers greater accessibility and flexibility.
Note: Teaching assistantships are available to select students in the M.S. programs (both thesis and non-thesis). These roles offer valuable teaching experience and financial support. Positions are limited and highly competitive.
