“Schoolhouse Rock Live!” a stage musical adaptation of the classic 1970’s cartoon series, opens Thursday, July 2, at the Kokernot Outdoor Theatre in Alpine.
“I have been smiling and singing along to every song in this show like it’s 1977 and I’m an eight-year-old in front of the television again,” said Director Bret Scott. “The show is everything you remember about the TV show Schoolhouse Rock, plus six talented actors and a super fun script tying all these classic songs together. It doesn’t get any more wholesome and joyous than this.”
“Schoolhouse Rock Live!” was originally adapted for the stage by Theatre BAM, based in Chicago. It was written by Scott Ferguson, George Keating and Kyle Hall with music and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, Bob Dorough, Dave Frishberg, Kathy Mandry, George Newell and Tom Yohe.
