The Annual Student Art Walk/Gallery Night exhibition is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, November 22 and 23 and artwork entries are now open to all current Sul Ross State University students.
Any 2-D or 3-D medium is eligible for entry into the competition. Entries must have been created within the past two years and while participants were students at Sul Ross.
“All entries must be ‘gallery ready,’” said Carol Fairlie, Professor of Art, Fine Arts and Communication. “This simply means no wet work, raw or exposed canvas edges, no visible staples or saw tooth hangers.”
Fairlie also said all 2-D work must be ready to hang.
She noted that a maximum of two works may be entered by each student with a commission of 20 percent taken if the work sells.
“Sets of ceramic pieces may be entered as a single entry but priced individually,” said Fairlie.
Entries must meet all requirements to be eligible for the competition.
“If we run tight on space, some second entries may not be displayed,” Fairlie added.
Entries will be accepted in the Francois Fine Arts Building.
Entry deadline is 5:00 p.m., Monday, November 18.
Entry forms are available outside room 06 in the basement of the Francois Fine Arts Building
