Sul Ross State University Fall 2019 semester classes will begin Monday, Aug. 26.
Residence halls will open at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22. Move-in days are scheduled for Aug. 22-25. Aug. 23 is the payment deadline for students who pre-registered for classes. Aug. 25 is the last day for regular registration.
Camp Brand’em begins at 11:00am on Saturday, Aug. 24 at the Pete P. Gallego Center and will continue through the weekend.
Classes will begin Monday, Aug. 26. A faculty/staff meeting will be held at 4:00 p.m. in the Marshall Auditorium. College and departmental meetings will also be scheduled throughout the day. Late registration and schedule changes will be accepted from Aug. 26-29. Tuesday, Aug. 27 is the last day for students to register for Education block courses.
The University will be closed on Monday, Sept. 2 for the Labor Day holiday.
Tuesday, Sept. 3 marks the last day to drop the first, eight-week course without creating an academic record. Wednesday, Sept. 11 is the 12th class day and is the last day to drop a 16-week term course without creating an academic record.
Friday, Sept. 20 is the last day for students enrolled in Education block courses to drop a course and receive a “W”.
The deadline for students enrolled in the first eight-week courses to drop a course and receive a “W” is Friday, Sept. 27.
Midterm exams will begin Friday, Oct. 18. Monday, Oct. 21 is mid-semester for the 16-week term.
Wednesday, Oct. 23 is the last day for schedule changes for the second eight-week term. The last day to drop a second eight-week course without creating an academic record is Monday, Oct. 28.
Sul Ross will be closed Monday, Nov. 11 in observance of the Veterans Day holiday.
Friday, Nov. 15 is the last day to withdraw from the 16-week course/term with a grade of “W”. Drops must be processed and in the University Registrar’s office by 4 p.m. Nov. 15 is also the last day to apply for May graduation without a late fee.
Monday, Nov. 25 is the deadline for students enrolled in second eight-week courses to drop a course and receive a “W”.
The University will be closed Nov. 27-29 for Thanksgiving.
Wednesday, Dec. 4 marks the final day of classes. Dead day is Thursday, Dec. 5
Final exams are scheduled for Dec. 6, 9-11. Fall Commencement will be held Friday, Dec. 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the Pete P. Gallego Center. Residence halls will close at noon Saturday, Dec. 14.
