      Spring 2020 semester classes at Sul Ross State University are scheduled to begin on Monday, January 13. Payment deadline for students who preregistered is 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 10.

      Lobo Days for new and transfer students are scheduled for January 10 and 11. Move-in to residence halls is also scheduled for January 10 and 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. both days.

      Regular registration for the spring 2020 term ends on Sunday, January 12.

      The university will close on Monday, January 20 in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. Midterm exams will be held on Friday, March 6. Spring break is March 9-13. The university will also close on Friday, April 10 for Good Friday as part of the three-day Easter weekend.

      Spring honors convocation will be held on Monday, April 20 at 7:00 p.m. in the Marshall Auditorium. The last class day before finals is Wednesday, April 29. Final exams are scheduled for May 1, 4-6 (Friday, Monday-Wednesday).

      Spring commencement for Sul Ross State University Alpine campus will be held on Friday, May 8 at 7:00 p.m. at the Pete P. Gallego Center. Sul Ross Middle Rio Grande Campuses will hold spring commencement on Saturday, May 9 at 3:30 p.m. at the International Center for Trade on the Eagle Pass campus.

      March 16, Monday

      • Final grades for 1st 8 week term students submitted by noon
      • Mid Semester, 16 week term
      • Classes begin, 2nd eight week term

      March 18, Wednesday

      • Last day for schedule changes, 2nd eight week term

      March 23, Monday

      • Last day to drop 2nd 8 week course without creating an academic record

      March 30, Monday

      • Last day for instructor initiated drop for excessive absences. Must reach the EVP and Provost for Academic Affairs’ office by Monday, March 30 by 4 p.m.

      April 3, Friday

      • SRSU Birthday – University/Community Meal on the Mall
      • Tenure and promotion review: Applications, dossiers and recommendations from the Joint Council on Faculty Affairs to the EVP and Provost for Academic Affairs
      • Last day to withdraw from the 16 week course/term with grade of ‘W’. Drops must be processed and in the University Registrar’s Office by 4 p.m.
      • Last day to apply for August graduation without a late fee
      • Last day to apply for December graduation without a late fee

      April 6, Monday

      • Academic Evaluation: Completion of Student Appraisal of Faculty (Form FE-2) for Spring (to be completed 4/06-5/8)

      April 9, Thursday

      • Tenure and promotion review: Applications, dossiers and recommendations from the EVP and Provost for Academic Affairs to the President (recommendations will be included in the May Texas State University System Board of Regents meeting)
