Alpine, TX – Sul Ross is excited to honor our Noyce Scholars who presented in Cave City, Kentucky at the National Science Foundation’s Noyce Midwest Conference. Darissa Cervantes, Evelyn Perez, and Ashley Quinones, and Dr. Jennifer Miller shared Transforming Deeper Future Ready Learning Through the 4C’s, which is a best practice toward integrating technology. In addition to presenting,  scholars were able to tour  Mammoth National Park and will be working with mentors Dr. Dan Foley and Dr. Michael Ortiz to design a 5E lesson to engage middle school students in STEM activities this summer at a summer camp experience.

The Noyce program aims to increase the number of highly qualified STEM teachers serving the greater Trans-Pecos area. The scholarship window is open until Feb. 28 and can provide up to $48,000 to juniors classified as a STEM major seeking a teaching certification.
