The Office of International Studies at Sul Ross State University signed an agreement earlier in October with Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT) in New Taipei City in Taiwan, the latest of several new Study Abroad partnerships aimed at developing more cultural learning opportunities.
Esther Daganzo-Cantens, Ph.D., the Director of International Studies and a professor of Spanish, announced the partnership.
“We have been working to re-build and enrich this program over the last couple of years, and our efforts are paying off. We now have six agreements with universities in Taiwan, Mexico and Spain, and we’re close to having two more,” she said. “Our goal is to have a diversity of rewarding international experiences available for education, professional development and research.”
In addition to MCUT, agreements have been made with the Universidad Politecnica de Piedras Negras, Mexico, Universidad de Cordoba, Spain, Universidad Autonoma de Chihuahua, Mexico, Tamkang University, Taiwan, and Universidad Autónoma Agraria Antonio Narro, Coahulia, Mexico.
The agreements outline credit transfers, sharing facilities, student/staff exchange, collaborative research and short-term study abroad options.
