Sul Ross State University requests for multiple changes to Master of Education degrees have been approved by the Board of Regents of the Texas State University System. The Board met Thursday-Friday (August 16-17) in Lost Pines, Texas near Austin.
The Regents also acknowledged more than $400,000 in gifts and donations.
To bring Sul Ross into compliance with the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACSCOC) standards, changes to four Master of Education degrees were requested. These approved changes will be implemented in January, 2019.
For the Master of Education-General degree, the required semester credit hours will be 33 at both the Alpine and Rio Grande College (RGC) campuses.
For the Master of Education-Reading Specialist degree offered through RGC, the required semester credit hours will be 30.
Additionally, the name of RGC’s Master of Education-School Administration degree will be changed to Master of Education-Educational Leadership and will now require 30 semester credit hours.
