Lobo Village

Lobo Villages 1 and 2 includes 250 apartment-style residence hall units that are furnished. Lobo 1 houses Freshman Students. Lobo 2 houses our upperclassman, transfer, and graduate students. Please review a gallery with pictures of the rooms, both buildings and floor plans here. Two students share a living room and bath area, while enjoying the privacy of separate bedrooms. Each unit includes a living room, foyer and bathroom. The units also contain a desk, bed frame, mattress, dresser, side table, closet, and desk chair for each room. The foyer contains a love seat, single seat couch, entertainment center, coffee table, end table, mini fridge, microwave, and a thermostat for the room. The bathroom area has a toilet and shower that is separated by a door to the double vanity area. The average unit is 550 sq. ft.

Fletcher Hall

Fletcher Hall is a great low cost housing option for students. Please review a gallery with pictures of the room, the building and floor plans here. This is a traditional suite-style residence hall with 54 furnished units. Two students share a common bedroom and share a bathroom with their suitemates. It has a common lounge on each floor with kitchen facilities. A laundry room is provided on the first floor for the building. The average unit is 312 sq. ft.

Apartments (Single Students)

Lobo Village Efficiency Apartments

The Lobo Village complex includes 60 efficiency apartments for single students who are at least 21 years old.  Each unit includes a kitchen, bedroom/living area and bath. The rooms are fully furnished, and include a twin extra long bed, dresser, nightstand, desk chair, filing cabinet, desk with hutch, table and chairs. The average unit is 310 sq. ft. Applications will be accepted for the waiting list the semester before turning 21years of age.  Submitting an application for the Efficiency Apartment does not guarantee a room.  All applicants will be placed on a waiting list and be contacted when there is availability. Lobo Pack Apartments

These 40 two-bedroom, fully-furnished apartments are available to accommodate students who are at least 21 years old or junior in classification. Eligible students who wish to cohabitate, married couples*), or single parent* students are eligible to apply for the Lobo Pack Apartments. Each unit includes two bedrooms, full kitchen, living room, utility closet with washer/dryer, and bath. The units are completely furnished including coffee table, entertainment center, love seat, single couch, desks, dresser, nightstand, twin bed frame, twin mattress in each room, kitchen table, 4 chairs, stove, and fridge.  No additional furniture is required or allowed. Floor plans of the apartments can be found here. The average size is 564 sq. ft.  Applications will be accepted for the waiting list the semester before turning 21 years of age. Submitting an application for the Lobo Pack Apartment does not guarantee a room. All applicants will be placed on a waiting list and be contacted when there is availability. If you are in a unit where two people are on the contract and the rent is split between you and the other person, upon the departure of your roommate,  a new roommate will be assigned by Residential Living.

*All children must have a birth certificate or legal guardianship paperwork identifying the registered student of the unit as the responsible legal guardian attached to the application. Married couples should include a copy of their marriage certificate with their application.  Occupancy in Lobo Pack Housing can consist of two adults, up to two children under the age of 18, and one infant under the age of 5 for a maximum living capacity of 5 (no more than 2 adults).

What to Bring and What Not to Bring

Laundry

Laundry facilities are located on campus for our students. A laundry room is located in each residence hall and efficiency apartment building. All residents are eligible to use these facilities in their assigned buildings. The machines are free to use and do not require coins.

Food Services

Aramark provides a variety of meal plan options for Sul Ross students. Meals are served in the Morgan University Center. The regular menu features a variety of tasty, nutritious foods. The food court includes a grill, a salad and pasta bar, and quick snacks. There is also a Starbucks. The hours of operation for the food court is:

Monday – Friday:

  • Breakfast – 7 a.m. – 9 a.m.
  • Lunch – 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Dinner – 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.
  • (Starbucks – 7 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.)

Saturday:

  • Breakfast – 9 a.m. – 10 a.m.
  • Lunch – 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Dinner – 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Sunday:

  • Brunch – 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Dinner – 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Aramark also provides an on-campus convenience store located in the Lobo Village Community Building. The C-Store is open from 10 a.m.-midnight Monday through Friday night. It is also open on weekends. Cash, cards, and lobo bucks are accepted. For additional information please see the Campus Dish.

Guest Housing

Guest housing in the residence halls is offered on a space-available basis for commuting or graduate students who need housing a few nights out of the week. Guests must provide their own towels, sheets, soap, personal items, etc.

The cost per person per night is $30 for a room. Guests need to call (432) 837-8190 two weeks in advance to see if reservations are available.
