The Sul Ross State University Department of Education invites educators, faculty and leaders to the Science of Literacy and Learning virtual conference on July 29 from 9am-3 pm.
The purpose of the Science of Learning Conference is to provide educational leaders, K-12 teachers, undergraduate and graduate students, and faculty the opportunity for in-depth discussions exploring how the science of memory and learning impacts instructional approaches toward improving literacy and learning outcomes.
Participants will engage in learning experiences that focus on the following learning strands: Literacy Instruction and the Diverse Learner, Effective School Improvement Systems, Bridging Literacy and Equity through Community, and STREAM Integration (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineer, the Arts, and Mathematics).
“This year we will host a free Zoom professional learning event,” said Dr. Jennifer Miller-Ray, Educational Instructional Technology Coordinator. “We are scheduled to host five guest speakers and I’m confident that educators from around the area will benefit from this virtual conference.”
