ALPINE- From February 28 to March 24, SRSU has welcomed invitational artist Ramon Deanda who has graced the Fine Arts Gallery with artwork that evoke absurdity and chaos to his audience.

Through paintings and ceramics, Deanda has told the story of world that he says is “South of paradise and just North of Hell.” Capturing a world similar to that of George Orwell’s “Animal Farm.” The artwork contains ranch animals mimicking the corruption and negative traits that are present in human society.

As Mexican music plays throughout the Fine Arts gallery, the audience has the opportunity to visit Deanda’s chaotic world “south of paradise.”

On March 24, at 4 p.m., Deanda will discuss his work, with a reception afterwards. The event will be held in the Fine Arts Gallery, located in the Fine Arts Building. March 26, Deanda will host an artist workshop and potluck meal at the ceramic building from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
