Buoyed by the success of the first annual SRSU Undergraduate and Graduate Symposium in 2018, Sul Ross State University will be hosting the 2nd Annual Undergraduate and Graduate Symposium today, Monday, April 22 from noon to 6:00 p.m. in the Morgan University Center.

The Symposium will host close to 95 students this year, representing all Sul Ross campuses and academic disciplines.  Students will be presenting their research in oral presentations, through panel discussions, and as posters.

SRSU faculty members nominated student presenters who had produced excellent research or creative work during the current academic year.  Student work could be from the fall 2018 semester, or work-in-progress from spring 2019.

The Symposium will kick off at noon on April 22 with student posters available for viewing in the 2nd floor atrium of the Morgan University Center.  At 12:30 p.m., Dr. Louis Harveson, professor of Natural Resource Management, Borderlands Research Institute director, and winner of the 2018 TSUS Regents’ Professor Award, will be the keynote speaker in UC Espino rooms A & B.  Food and refreshments will be provided during this time.  Student oral, panel, and group presentations will begin at 1:15 p.m. in UC Espino rooms A, B, C, D, and room 210.  They will run until 5:50 p.m.  There will be a break from 3:00 to 3:50 p.m. for a formal poster presentation session in the UC atrium area with students available for questions.  Full student abstracts for all presentations and a PDF version of the program can be found on the SRSU Symposium Blog site HERE.
