Upward Bound – Program Eligibility and Application

To be admitted into the Upward Bound Program, students must meet the following criteria:

1. The student must be a freshman, sophomore or junior at one of the following high schools:
   • Terlingua
   • Marfa
   • Van Horn
   • Sierra Blanca
2. The student must come from a family whose income meets federal income requirements and/or from a family in which neither parent has completed a four-year degree (first-generation college students).

Selection is also based on recommendation from teachers and counselors, grades, test scores and a personal interview.

Applying for Upward Bound

Prospects should complete the Upward Bound Application for Admission (PDF) and turn in all supporting documentation to establish eligibility for the Upward Bound Program.
