It is the mission of the Office of Financial Aid to eliminate or diminish financial barriers to students seeking an education at Sul Ross State University, and to inform prospective students, parents and enrolled students of financial aid resources and requirements.

In order to achieve this goal, the financial aid team is committed to nurturing a customer service environment which benefits students, parents, the university community, and the public in a positive manner. The team develops and maintains mutual respect and credibility by being honest, accurate and compassionate. Inherent in this process is effective communication, knowledge, training, problem solving, flexibility, promptness and timeliness.

All SRSU Financial Aid staff are members of Texas Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (TASFAA). All financial aid staff follow Federal and State rules and regulations for awarding of aid to students.

Staff members attend TASFAA’s New Aid Officer Workshops and also yearly training events to remain current on new or revised regulations.

SRSU Financial Aid staff are available to advise all students of funding opportunities available in an effort to reduce potential student debt incurred from borrowing.
