TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) is available for potential BSN nursing candidates. It is a four-hour proctored test designed to assess a student’s preparedness to enter the health science field.
The TEAS examination is provided by the Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI). To be considered a candidate for the SRSU BSN program, students must achieve an overall score of 75% or above on the TEAS exam. Because the TEAS examination is a required prerequisite for an application and acceptance to the BSN program, students are encouraged to complete the exam prior to January of their sophomore year. The application process to enter the BSN program ends on January 31, prior to their sophomore year.
The cost of the TEAS provided through a registration process with ATI is $65/administration. The cost of the Testing Center for proctoring services is $15/administration. An appointment time and payment for both the exam and testing center proctor must be made prior to taking the exam.
For information on creating a student account with ATI and other study resources, contact the Sul Ross State University Nursing Department at nursing@sulross.edu.
