TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) is available for potential BSN nursing candidates. It is a four-hour test designed to assess a student’s preparedness to enter the health science field. An appointment must be made with the Nursing Department to take this examination.

The TEAS examination is provided by the Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI). The benchmark for this examination is 75 or above for the total score. The scores are immediately generated once the test is completed. The TEAS is a requirement before applying to the Nursing Program. Students are encouraged to take the TEAS examination before February of their sophomore year to be considered a candidate for the BSN program.

The cost of the TEAS provided through a registration process with ATI is $65/assessment. The cost of the Testing Center proctor is $15/administration. Payment must be made to the Testing Center before the testing day to secure a seat. There is no fee for a proctor if scheduled through the Department of Nursing. The price for the TEAS can be paid on the day of the examination. These payments require a credit/debit card.
