Helpful Hints for Summer 2021 Registration

In summer 2021, Sul Ross will no longer offer separate summer I and summer II terms. Instead, we will offer ONE summer term with multiple “parts of term” – also known as sessions.

Much like the fall and spring terms that include of a full term session (16 weeks) and two 8 week sessions, the summer term will consist of a full term session (11 weeks) and two 5 1/2 week sessions (Sessions I and II):

Full session: June 2, 2021 through August 9, 2021

Session I: June 2, 2021 through July 6, 2021

Session II: July 7, 2021  through August 9, 2021

In order to help you determine which sections are offered in the full term, session I, or session II, we used the first character of the section number:

Full session: all section numbers will start with something OTHER THAN a “1” or “2” and will tell you something about how the course is delivered (W = web, Z = virtual meeting, 0 = face to face)

Example: ED 7101, section W01

Session I: all section numbers will start with “1” and the second character will tell you something about how the course is delivered (W = web, Z = virtual meeting, 0 = face to face)

Example: CRIM 3302, section 1W1

Session II: all sections numbers will start with a “2” and the second character will tell you something about how the course is delivered (W = web, Z = virtual meeting, 0 = face to face)

Example: PSCH 4310, section 2Z1

Full details about how a course is delivered, where, when, and by whom are available in the self-service class schedule.

Term/Session Regular Registration Begins Regular Registration Ends Late Registration Begins Late Registration Ends
Fall 2021 Monday, 4/12/2021 Sunday, 8/22/2021 Monday, 8/23/2021 Thursday, 8/26/2021

Registration Instructions

Regular Registration: You may register online beginning at 12:00 am on the first day of regular registration.  You may add and drop courses online through 11:59 pm on the last day of regular registration.  There is no penalty for adding or dropping courses during regular registration (even if you are dropping all classes).

Late Registration: You may continue to make schedule changes online through 5:00 pm on the last day of late registration.  You may add and drop courses without penalty during this time.  However, if your initial registration occurs during late registration, you will be assessed a $125 late registration fee.  NOTE: The online registration system will not allow you to drop your last class.  Dropping all classes after the semester begins constitutes a withdrawal from the University.  See Withdrawal From ALL Classes for more information.  A withdrawal after the semester begins also incurs a financial obligation. See the Refund Policy for a schedule of refunds.

For complete online registration instructions, visit the Banner Registration Instructions page.

Registration Instructions

All undergraduates must be advised prior to registration.  To determine where you must go to be advised, check for an advising hold on LoboOnLine.  If you see “Must See Lobo Den Advisor”, contact the Lobo Den for an advising appointment at (432) 837-8982.  If you see “Must See Major Advisor”, contact your major department for an advising appointment.

Once registered, all schedule changes through the end of late registration must be done with your advisor.  If you wish to drop all classes once classes begin, you must withdraw from the University.  See Withdrawal From ALL Classes for more information.

To View Holds

To view holds in LoboOnLine, log in using your student ID (A number) and PIN.  Select Student, then Student Records, then “View Holds on Your Records”.  If you have any other holds that prevent the registration process, you must clear those holds before you can be advised.  For an explanation of holds and who to contact for help, visit Record and Registration Holds.

To Verify Current Major

To verify your current major, select Student, then Student Records, then “View Your Student Information”.  Select the current term to view your information.  If the major listed under curriculum information is not correct, you may still be advised by the major department that you have a degree plan with, but you must submit a Change of Information form to the Center for Enrollment Services to update your records.  Print the form and take it with you to your advising appointment for a signature from your advisor, then submit the form to Lawrence Hall room 100.

NOTE: Sul Ross no longer offers separate Summer I and Summer II terms. For assistance with Summer 2021 registration, see the helpful hints section below.
